Monumental baroque city, Scicli owes its shape and location to the major earthquake of 1693, which forced the inhabitants to reconstruct and relocate the village.
Among what remains of the ancient centre, we can see the church of San Matteo and the Hermitage of St. Croce, alternating with the more purely Baroque beauty of St. Bartholomew’s Church, of St. Ignatiu’s Church and the splendid palaces Beneventano and Spadaro.
From the streets of the baroque we will immerse ourselves in the symbolic sites of the small screen’s best known Inspector, Camilleri’s Montalbano: we will visit the police station, take walks with panoramic views and walk along the typical streets of the literary town of Vigata.
